I actually bought this book because my 14 yr old son is taking computer science and is learning to code with Python and honestly I wanted to be able to talk to him about it and help if needed. Only problem was I didn't know anything about it. In came this book. I absolutely loved how it walks you through every single step, starting with how to install the program with easy step by step instructions that I believe even my 68 yr old mom could understand and she is not a tech savvy person. If you have never used Python, I highly recommend this book. I love the simplicity of it and also have realized how many uses I have for it in my own daily job. Apparently it is not just for helping my son after all :)

The hands-on projects are engaging (and challenging!), so I found the inclusion of popular libraries like NumPy & Matplotlib helpful (required?) for finishing the projects and building all the real-world skills. However, the books comprehensive nature can sometimes feel overwhelming (especially for some of us as newbies), & some topics, like machine learning, might require further resources to grasp fully. Despite this, its a solid, approachable guide for anyone looking to start coding in Python & build a foundation for more advanced projects.

I have decades of experience in other languages, but this was my first touch with Python to any notable degree. It's clear and contains many of examples to give a good foundation in the language, setting you up to be able to continue your learning on your own. Highly recommended.
